Hijabotran 2000 is a critical design project condemning mandatory hijab in Iran.
Since the 1979 revolution, women have been forced to cover their hair when appearing outside. There have been numerous and ongoing protests and activities around the subject, which have all faced oppression and violence by the totalitarian regime currently ruling the country. But during these 40 years, women have done what they do best; moderating the unwanted.
I invite you to watch my short satire video about the hijab robot. The robot works with an Arduino sound sensor and two servo motors. The project was done with the help of Aalto FabLab and Julia Lohmann as the supervisor.
