"Instructions for a Mindful Wander" is a participatory practice designed to help us appreciate the small wonders around us. Often, we collect little treasures during our walks in nature—a tiny stone, a feather, a uniquely shaped leaf, or a small pinecone. This experience encourages participants to take a moment to sit with these items, cherishing their beauty and letting their imaginations run wild. Through a blend of guided exploration and creative play, participants found joy in searching for their favorite leaf and engaging with clay, all while enjoying a seamless flow to the experience. As Nina noted, "It was nice that we did not have to think about what to do next."
The experience began with handing out a piece of paper to my participants. As they strolled through nature, they read the poems, each discovering their favorite pine tree and searching for the perfect stone. I captured their journey on film, documenting both our walk in the outdoors and the workshop where they got their hands dirty with clay Following the instructions, each participant crafted their own unique piece.

Imagine you are showcasing the stone in an exhibition, make it a stand

Imagine grass is hair, make it a head

Make a vase for the pine branch

Imagine pine is heart, make it a body

Imagine leaf is a head, make it a body

Make a print of the pine
